Darbar Hall, Quila Mubarak
Patiala, Punjab
The building holds the historical, associational as well as architectural significance. It is an important part of Qila Mubarak Complex which dates back to 1767 AD. It was used as court room initially. Baba Ala Singh, founder of Patiala dynasty laid its foundation.
Architectural significance of Darbar Hall is due to its numerous decorative feature that embellish the building, such as double cusped arched openings, decorative wooden doors, moldings, pilaster, cornices, aalas, elaborate stucco work done in lime plaster, decorative sandstone brackets and jallis. The whole structure is crowned` with decorative parapet and chattris.
